Before I get really weird on my Wednesday post this week, I thought I'd post something normal for a change, to prove I can be sensible sometimes!
Ok, so I exaggerated. *Nose is growing longer for lying*... Truth: I can be normal... on the rare occasion.
So this normal-rare-occasion was a birthday. My Aunty Lyn's. She made my gorgeous wedding dress years ago and she always deserves a fancy card...
If it was just for a random Jane Doe down the road... I launch out the ugly paper... lol.
*searching through stash*
OOOoooooooo DCWV Immortal Love range... HOT!
Throwback Thursday challenge at My Creative Time was to use Wildcard, or Just Because Cards:
and then I used this sketch from
Die Cutting Divas, as inspiration.

The DT work over at Throwback Thursday is amazing so I thought I could enter and make a fittingly special card. So I blinged up my card, I added a fancy ribbon rose and some cute mini letters. I glimmer-misted the flower.
Then I read the rules again *nose is growing longer*
Ok. Truth: Read the rules for the FIRST time, after getting excited about completing my creation. Saw that needed to use embossing too! EEEEEEeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk!!!!
The OCD in me doesn't cope well with EXTRA UN-READ RULE!
Gah! Speed reading catches me out all the time lately, but without it, I could never blog about like I do.
So I decided to use some embossing powder on my flower, some rainbow sparkly stuff... HOT. Sprayed on some adhedsive, sprinkled glitter and then heat gunned it with DISASTROUS results! It looked horrid. Meanwhile Glimmer mist was still drying and got annoyed, "HEY yo emboss stuff! This here is MY flower!" Both of them had a mad fight on the end of the rose and Emboss lost the fight. The rose had a haircut and I may as well have used the Froggy paper.
Post-emboss plan failed.
Some remnants of the emboss can be seen if you strain your eyes.
Before I could think of my 'PLAN B' for post-embossing... Aunty Lyn's party had started and I had to go. As it was, the non-scrapping party goers thought it was JUST AAAMMMMMAAAAAZZZZZIIINNNGGGG.... even though in scrappy world I would consider it an EPIC FAIL!
So I'll post it, Live and LEARN... PLUS in about a year I can enter it into a challenge blog I found on Daisy Central called Flashback Friday, where they encourage you to reflect on past posts and celebrate how far you have come as a scrapper! lol. YAY!
Thanks for a learning curve and a cute sketch Throwback Thursday. I had fun!
