Challenges Galore! Some Frosty Peachy Imaginisce fun!

Happy Best Friends day!!!!! Me and my bestie have celebrated this awesome day by organising a new exciting group!  Long post!

We both have busy lives and love to find solutions to make life easier. We love our blog world, and challenges keep our scrapping on a roll and add so much to our albums, but finding fun challenges can be a daunting task sometimes. 

Carlene goes to a lot of scrapathons and loves to take a list of challenges, so together we created a facebook group so we can keep a simple updated list there - she can check her phone when out and about and I can see all my favourite challenges there! Problem solved!

The layout above is the logo I made for the group. 


I am entering it in Frosted Designs Best Friends challenge. (My second entry! - is that even allowed? - I couldn't find anything that said I couldn't.)

 I loved creating little paper dolls that matched our own taste in clothes, hair-dos, shoes and bling.  She has been in my life 11 years. I know her well, even as a paper doll. Lol.



Peachy Keen Challenge Blog has a 'Designers Choice' Lets Face it Friday. I LOVED that these Dolly Dumpling stamps were designed so they looked left and right. We are looking at each other in the layout. 

 That represents us as friends so well, we never look behind, we never look in front, because neither of us follows or leads. We stand equal beside each other and we have always admired each other. AWWWWWWWwwww lol. True though.


Then Imaginisce has a Summer Time challenge with a gorgeously yummy image from Pinterest as inspiration. The words from Cliff Richards Summer holiday I have used are Fun and Laughter, You and me.

 I went with the swiss dots look. (I actually just used the dots on the Imaginisce Enchanted paper range as a guide) Cheat!

 One of the new glitter range of i-gems are the perfect selection of colour for this challenge!

I even layered various Imaginisce papers to match the rainbow effect. 


But here's the true best friends in this story. My I-rock never goes ANYWHERE without my new Gem Tray. Such a simple tool but BRILLIANT! It's my i-rock's soul mate!

 I added a few extra flowers from the Enchanted range and lots of i-rocks here and there. Done!

Now, hard work is made easier with many hands! Friendly Frosted Designs Challenge.

Frosted Designs is celebrating Best Friends Day with a challenge. I made this layout for my most treasured Daisy! 

 Carlene from Me n Miss Pink Cricut adds so much to my life and our friendship is always worth celebrating. 

The great thing is, when you have a scrapper friend, you can give them a layout as a present! This is one I made for her album and it contains a personal hidden note, and a removable wine glass charm, that she can take out with her at parties.

Carlene and I have made a habit of taking this crazy kind of  photo with flowers on our eyes, as we call each other Daisy.

Whimsically Frosted - Back to Basics in the Funshine!

Whimsical Wednesday is having a Back to Basics Challenge - Use no cricut and some 'old school' scrapping items.

Frosted Designs is having an Outdoor Games theme challenge for Fabulous Friday!

So I did a double layout for a double challenge!

My friend Amy had her son's birthday party set up in their back yard with a great big water castle slide. It was fantastic!

So in keeping with the Whimsical Wednesday Back to basics, I told my Cricut, "sorry baby... no cricut allowed for this one."

She was shocked and chirpless...

So all the old school scissors came out and had a big party... Yay!!! Shake off the dust!

Poor neglected things.

I even used some old techniques...

Remember the old "I-NEED-A-CIRCLE" moment...

And you traced around tape, bins, glue stick lids and cups!

Even though your circle came out and oblong, all the scrapping ladies still complimented you on how neat your circle cut was...

Now... All you need is Accent Essentials, number 43 and push shift. PERFECT every time. (And yes, I know that off by heart). I have Cricut-love.

Check out all those old school stickers above... I even had to stick some on with Glossy because the sticky tack had gone from years of being stored!

I used some paper clip tags, which you will be able to win in next weeks Cheap Chirpin Tuesday!

And I love how I made the slide using bazzill and the photos lined up as if he was sliding down...

Going Dotty for Frosted Designs Challenge.

Phew, what a few weeks it has been. I am settling into my new home/town and start my new teaching position this Friday!  I have felt a bit dotty with all that is going on! So I am entering the stripes and dots challenge at Frosted Designs.

These are my cousin's gorgeous children and family. I worked away for a lot of my teaching career. So I missed out on being there to watch her kids every week. Raelene sent me photos for birthdays/holidays and I collected them all.

I am so excited now though, as I have moved into their town area and will LOVE being able to spend more time with my cousins and watch their kids grow less quickly!

In keeping with the spots and stripes challenge, I used stripes, polka dots, stripes of dots and dots with stripes, I used dots on dots and stripes on stripes and dots on my stripey dotty stripes... lol. 

My eyes need testing now.

The fonts are from Songbird and Opposites Attract.

The font on the journalling is called SEGOE. Love it.

GREAT NEWS! 6 people have commented on all our April cheap chirpers for Cheap Chirpin Tuesday and ONE lucky winner will be announced on Carlene's blog and they can choose a surprise Cartridge, Princess Faces set of Peachy Keen Stamps or ALL the cheap chirpers for March and April (it jackpotted!!!!) Sorry I haven't been blogging about lately! The internet where I live is slower than a postal service. I will invest in wireless fast speed soon and get bloghopping to see everyone's inspiration again!

Frosted Designs Butterfly Challenge.

The Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs this week is to use a butterfly or bird. It's no secret I'm not really a fan of feathery things (eeeeekkkkk to birds!) so I'm Team Butterflies!

And I've always been known as a social one. (Is 'social butterfly' a world-wide term or just some weird Aussie thing?) 

Well, I'm definitely more the 'social' part than the 'butterfly' Butterflies are quiet and graceful creatures. You can hear my chatter and laughter coming from a mile away! 


So this is me and a long lost friend Carrie dancing at our school social in 1985. The start of my Social Butterfly career.

 I made the little butterflies on the paper dance about with green pen flight trails. 

Wall Decor and More cartridge made this magnificent butterfly. Crystalina Kindy Glitz and Stickles colours Black Opal and Deep Blue blinged up the butterfly. With a touch of i-rock.

White rub on wings made a few extra butterflies.


Then I caught an ant, dipped one of his little feet in green paint, set him down on the page and let him walk all around the border... 

 

HAHAHAHA!!!! I wish it was that easy!

  

I think I will get arthritis five years earlier thanks to dotting all around the edge in butterfly flight with green pen!

  

    You can even spy a few birds if you follow the butterfly path.

Frosted Designs makes me want to do some Jitterbuggin too!

Settle in. I'm in my usual prattle-on-and-on mode. 

Earth day is coming and Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge is all about re-using or re-purposing things in the home. I started my project this week but was so glad when this challenge was posted, as it re-motivated me to finish it!

Now my computer is telling me that "re-motivated" is NOT a word, but in the interest of scrappers worldwide... I think we should add it to the scrap lingo dictionary!!!! WHO's WITH ME??? ... too often we just need a little nudge to get through the tough part of a project.  I am officially re-purposing that word! Re-motivate me!

Earlier this week I was re-using the all forgotten CD cases as a new storage solution for my Peachy Keen Stamps... So this Frosted Designs challenge re-motivated me to finish the last few sets as a way of re-using my empty CD cases and my space effectively.

The above picture is also my entry for Jitterbuggin Bloom Where You Are Planted Challenge! This week they have a sketch challenge to add a cricut flower and some purple and pink!

 

 I even added a bit of yellow pollen for their blushy cheeks!

I love seeing what the stamp looks like all chalked up, it's much easier to match to a picture when you are trying to visualise the stamp.  Inside view:

The photo below shows that I HAD magazines above my head... USELESS!!!

I'm not a see-and-copy kind of scrapper... I usually think outside the box that is outside another box!!! So magazines can go.

Not ONLY did I re-motivate myself to re-purpose my CD cases, I re-motivated myself to alter my re-purposed scrap table that I altered. It was from a computer desk from Office Works but I turned it into Scraplerium Scraptopia. (Yes, I made those words up, too). 

I stuck some old CD Holder Thingys in - 

(Please note: that is not the technical term).

And now I have my Peachies right where I can grab them!

PLUS - I also have my i-rock and watercolours underneath too now. Every spare millimetre accounted for. That's what I like!
