Whimsical Wednesday - Get well Little Man.

Whimsical Wednesday Challenge #13 is to make a project to for Angelo. I have been following Margie form Bella Bug Creations for a while now and happily made this card to wish her little grandson, Angelo a speedy recovery. You can read more about Angelo's story on Margie's blog here.

This card comes with a detachable personalised spinner, because I know little Angelo will show the world that little boys just never run out of puff. 

If you take off the large brad, the spinner completely detaches.

Hospitals can be such a boring place for little boys. I should know. I have two boys with a rare genetic condition and we have hours of appointments every month with different specialists, most of it spent in waiting rooms. 

Sometimes something as simple as this little spinner can be enough to distract a tired, grumpy boy for five minutes and help relax his mood. 

I used Bo Bunny Blast OFF! paper and cut the little characters out like digi stamps. In the astronaut I cut a window, used peach bazzill to create a little face using Peachy Keen Baby Face assortment pack.

   Wishing Margie and family all energy and love they need to help Angelo get better and enjoy playing spaceships again. Enjoy your spinner little man, if only for one little distracting minute.

Colour Challenge... and there's a Lemon reasons to look!

Always glad to enter a Whimsical Wednesday. Their challenges are adding a lot of fun, and important stories to my albums. This is Fun with Colour Challenge #11.

I have been wanted to record Mr 3's funny habit for a year now. 

 For a long time when Drew was counting, he'd say... one two three four five six seffffennnn eight nine ten lemonnnnn. lol. It was adorable. So I have been waiting for a yellow challenge. 

Except I knew I had ONE bit of paper which I had been saving for this lemon layout... I turned my scrap area upside down, inside out and back to front... do you think I could find the blasted sheet!!!??? Negative. So tomorrow I'll be dealing with a mountain of paper to re-sort and no doubt I'll find my page of lemons! Gah!

So I stuck with only red, yellow and added the limey green in.  

 

I used Mickey for one, Martha for 2, Elegant Edges and Robotz for 3, Seasonal Martha for 4, Hello Kitty for 5, 6 is Country Life? I think, 7 ??... not very helpful here am I?...

       8 is Birthday Cakes, 

 

9 is a butchered Ornamental Iron number, 10 was sumpin sumpin???  and lemon was Zooballoo. The actual lemon was from SCAL. The leaves were Accent Essentials. (Good ole Accent... it just keeps giving - it really is essential).

My gyspy says, 'PHEW. Too much cartridge hopping'.  

Add some doodling, some Candi and my favourite Elegant Edges squiggle border cut. And I'm done. 

 

I'm glad I scrapbook. The Little Mr has been such a naughty monkey today. I was soooo glad to see him in bed. But seeing his cute photos and some relaxing down time and it all washes away.  

He is so cute in a Lemon million different ways.

Thanks Whimsical Wednesday for another awesome addition to my album. I love how it turned out and would never have chosen that mix on my own. 

Whimsical Wednesday Fun in the Sun Challenge!

Second post today! Phew. When you are on a roll, climb a hill, curl up and roll faster I say... 

Whimsical Wednesday is one of my favourite challenge blogs, they give you two weeks to complete each challenge and every challenge adds something great to your album. This week's is Fun in the Sun. 

BBTB2 is also having a Clouds Challenge! I'm entering that, too!

Fun in the Sun is a weird one for me. My two sons have a rare type of albinism and generally hate the sun, but they are very good at self management and enjoy many days under the shady sunshine. 

The clouds are cut from Zooballoo. (I don't own Pooh and Friends) They are a double and single cloud that are weird shapes, so I layered them for a Cumulus effect.  I inked the bottom of the clouds with Stormy Sky ink and the top of the clouds with Mustard Seed so that it looked like the sun was shining on top.

They really enjoy days when it is overcast and the 'sun shines above the clouds'. 

I made my own funky sunglasses stamp! Lol. You'll never believe how. Scrap supplies rue the day they came home with me. Most have have called their union saying, "Chloe's making us do jobs other than our purpose!"

Kindy Glitz puff white complains today: Use it to draw some sunnies on a piece of acrylic...  

Let it dry, add another layer. Let it dry. 

Use Double sided tape to stick it onto acrylic mounting block.

I used Peeled Paint Distress ink to stamp it on. 

(You know how actresses say the camera adds ten kilos of weight? Well, my camera adds ten kilos of dirt to my pretty blue mat... and acrylic block! Eeeekkkk!!!)

VOILA! Funky Sunnies! It would look great as a personalised sign off on a letter! Just like acrylic you can wipe it off with a baby wipe and use again. 

My other new distraction is Candi! I got some in a prize from Scrappy Go Lucky and I'm in love. 

 The little sheets of tiny pre-cut foam poppers are worth it alone! I'm not good at cutting itsy bitsy bits, so this is PERFECT! I'm going to ordering a tonne! Plus the Candi itself looks great!

 I wrote on the Candi with permament thin marker for little letters...oh so cute.

They really do look like mini m&m's. The word sun below is from a Technique Tuesday stamp set that I borrowed from Carlene. (Oops -had it wayyyyy toooooo looooonnnnnggggg and now my cover will be busted when she sees my blog! EEEEEEeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!) 

Not that she will care. That's why I celebrated our friendship in the post below. We don't keep score because it's never been a competition. We just work! (hahaha... is that enough to keep these stamps a little longer Daisy!?)

Whimsically Frosted - Back to Basics in the Funshine!

Whimsical Wednesday is having a Back to Basics Challenge - Use no cricut and some 'old school' scrapping items.

Frosted Designs is having an Outdoor Games theme challenge for Fabulous Friday!

So I did a double layout for a double challenge!

My friend Amy had her son's birthday party set up in their back yard with a great big water castle slide. It was fantastic!

So in keeping with the Whimsical Wednesday Back to basics, I told my Cricut, "sorry baby... no cricut allowed for this one."

She was shocked and chirpless...

So all the old school scissors came out and had a big party... Yay!!! Shake off the dust!

Poor neglected things.

I even used some old techniques...

Remember the old "I-NEED-A-CIRCLE" moment...

And you traced around tape, bins, glue stick lids and cups!

Even though your circle came out and oblong, all the scrapping ladies still complimented you on how neat your circle cut was...

Now... All you need is Accent Essentials, number 43 and push shift. PERFECT every time. (And yes, I know that off by heart). I have Cricut-love.

Check out all those old school stickers above... I even had to stick some on with Glossy because the sticky tack had gone from years of being stored!

I used some paper clip tags, which you will be able to win in next weeks Cheap Chirpin Tuesday!

And I love how I made the slide using bazzill and the photos lined up as if he was sliding down...

Whimsical Wednesday Birthday Challenge.

Whimsical Wednesday has a birthday celebration challenge on. This layout celebrates my 7th year in this world. At that age, most kids want to run away and join the circus... But I had the best ticket in the house - My Life. I had a wonderful childhood with great friends, a good family and lots of fun things to do! Imaginisce's Animal Crackers paper set was perfect. 

My family were active in the community.  I enjoyed freedom of the early 80s that our kids will never be able to experience. Playing on the street, animal nursery at our school, 20 kids on one climbing frame, cowboy themed dances with actual hay in the room! Thanks to allergies, safety rules and litigation, lots of these experiences are all but gone. 

 I was lucky enough to have a great set of friends and my school churned us out into a great bunch of citizens, that a lot of us still know each other's names 30 years on.

I returned home from school and playing many days bursting with excitement about what I did for the day. It was a great time to be a kid. 


My mum made the cutest doll cake for my birthday. I still remember every detail about the few hours I watched her put the icing on. 

 I cut out a ticket border from the Imaginisce paper set and then used a single hole punch to cut into the curved edges to make them look authentic. 

It is my step Dad's birthday today. Me and my spunkymonkeys have moved into his house on the farm recently after I separated from my husband. So his quiet, peaceful house has become a bit of a circus. So I also used some parts of the Animal Crackers paper to make him a card today too. The boys love their Poppy so much.

Thanks for a great challenge Whimsical Wednesday. It was a great layout to reflect on how lucky I was as a kid. I hope my boys will be able to reflect on their childhood experience with the same smile in their hearts. 

Whimsical Wednesday Royal Celebration.

Hi All!!! Whimsical Wednesday is celebrating my Royal Wedding with a Challenge... And yes... I said 'MY' Royal Wedding!

The Queen has graciously allowed me to announce here on my blog that I am actually married to Prince William and we used poor commmoner Kate as a body double for the photos, to attend all the boring public duties and fool the papparazzi.

I was chosen by her Royal Highness to be Will's true bride.  Kate, being so ultra thin, will have a bit of work getting preggo. I, on the otherhand, breed boys quite successfully... which is EXACTLY what the monarchy needs right now. 

Except my new sons will need a LITTLE bit more training on how to be princely-like. Yes, they are underpants on his head.

Anyhow, I LOVE the new i-rock trays just out!

You pour out your little bling bits, use them in the tray and when you are done, unscrew the tray cap, and they ALL go back into their little bottles. (I have found dropped i-blings in the weirdest places till now).

So I blinged up the page with some new red different sized i-gems.

I made some elements that matched my hunky new husbands jacket with the i-rock...

I chose some paper fit for a Queen!

All this to scrapbook my royal wedding, but also remind me in years to come of the fun that PhotoShop has brought to my life! I have been teaching Photoshop to some friends of mine too and always get quick calls asking,

 "How do you..."

Except the other day I was on the mobile phone, "Just use the lassoo around your sister's body and use the magic wand, grab the paint bucket and dump some black on the background." That got me a few weird looks in the shopping centre!

While teaching people, I learn so much too. I love it.

Anyhow, Thanks to the Whimsical Wednesday crew for a very fun challenge! While Kate is out and about being a fake duchess, it will leave me more time to scrap the rest of my royal wedding!

Cheap Chirpin Tuesday #3 March!

Cheap Chirpin Tuesday is here again and for all the cheap chirpers, we have a special surprise in store at the end of this month!

Today, I just have to feature my favourite outline pens, which Carlene from Me n Miss Pink Cricut introduced me to.

  They are the coolest pens that leave a faint coloured outline and really make the lines pop. (Especially faux stitching!)

Late last night I posted my funniest ever layout for the latest Peachy Keen Challenge and I used the pens as an outline around the entire layout. I would love you check out my post RIGHT HERE (or scroll down) after you commented on this post. 

 

 So today for my Cheap Chirper, one lucky winner will get two outline pens! Pink and Black... my favourite colours of them!
