Today's cheap chirp is: Brads.
You can't beat em! You always use them and it is a bonus when you find em cheap.
I had an hour to myself today (wooooo!) so I went Chirpin for Tuesdays. I found the most AMAZING things which I can't wait to share over the next few weeks.
But these brads, along with eyelets were in a huge reduction bin in Spotlight. Now... I am not exaggerating - I could have sat in it and splashed around. Scrappers heaven. All of them $2 each.  So I just had to pick up a few for the Cheap Chirp. I'll include this cute blue set and a spotty pastel set in the prize box.

Cheap Chirpin #1 June! and cute Blog CANDI.

Cheap Chirpin #1 for June!

We are starting a brand new month of Cheap Chirps!  You can win LOTS of blog candy just for joining myself and Carlene for the month! You just need to leave a comment on each Cheap Chirpin Tuesday post for the month on both our blogs!

Brrrrrrr.... welcome to Aussie winter!!! So jealous of the summer challenges.

This week's Cheap Chirper is an easy one for me. I got sent some CANDI from Scrappy-Go-Lucky and I am totally in love. It suits my weird-whimsical-whatever-goes-kind-of-style I do!

When I went to the shop just then and saw the range, I scrapgasmed! There are tons of great colours. Each packet is only around $4 and the little adhesive dots are $2.25.

Cheap and Chirpific!

Here is just a few of my favourites:

This is a layout I made this week with the CANDI:

I wrote on the CANDI with permanent ink. You could use rub ons too, for cute lettering.

So for the Cheap Chirp this week, I picked up the cut Toy Box Flowers ones and a sheet of little foam squares.
I am going to buy a few of these mini foam sheets for other projects. It is pre-cut into itsy bitsy squares and seems to have a very good quality adhesive. Perfect for lettering layering.

Donna was the Cheap Chirpin Chooseday winner for May!
Her choice of prize was:
* A surprise cartridge
* Just Baby Faces Assortment Package of Peachy Keen Stamps
OR * An Imaginsisce i-rock plus some accessories!
Donna has chosen the Peachy Keen Baby Faces! Enjoy!

The prize box is growing! We need more Aussies to join in the cheap chirp so some lucky chirper can win it!

Cheap Chirpin Tuesday #4 May

Cheap Chirpin #4 for May!

Cheap Chirper #4 for May is: Post-its!
There's a new trend in cute post-it notes and they make EXCELLENT tabs and journaling boxes for your layouts!

I found these in Big W for only $2 and they could be used for one great matching layout, then use the rest of them for household duties!

As soon as I find a moment to myself, I am entering Whimsical Wednesday's 'Back to Basics' challenge of a cricut-less page with some old school scrapping technology such as rub ons/stickers/etc. I am using some post-its tabs on my layout! Stay tuned!

Cheap Chirpin Tuesday #3 May!

rp
Cheap Chirpin #3 for May!

Cheap Chirper #3 for May is: Work in Progress Books!
In scrap shops, you can pay anywhere from $12 to $20 for these Work in Progress books.

It is just a file of ten 12 x 12 display pockets, which you can use to keep matched paper together, store unfinished projects in one pocket, plan your layouts and leave photos and matched paper together with a little post-it plan until you get to it. (These are great for pre-planning scrap retreats).

MINE, however, are altered. You can pick up these A3 display folder books cheaply from Newsagencies, when school is well and truly back and they are clearing out old stock. These are often on school book lists for Junior Primary class portfolios. Even though this is tagged $7.95 I got a few for $5 each on sale.

Then all you do is place on 12 x 12 sheet in the front so you can see where to trim and use your trimmer 5 times slowly across the book and ....

You have a 12 x 12 display book for organising your layouts!
I have one for boy matched paper, one for brand label paper which I enter challenges for each month (Bo Bunny, Kaisercraft, My Little Shoebox, Imaginisce) and one with photos matched to paper with little plans drawn for the layout in the pocket too.

So do yourself a huge OCD favour one day...
Lay out all your photos in matching sets.
Walk around the table with matching sets of paper and match them to the colours in your photos.

When you have them all sorted into piles...
Put them into your new $5 display book ready for INSTANT scrapping! That hour will be worth a day!

Cheap Chirpin Tuesday!

Cheap Chirpin #2 for May!

Cheap Chirper #2 for May is: Altered Rings!
They are in $2 shops for a reason!!!! They break easily.

But one little girls broken heart over her ring that broke in two minutes is one scrapbookers ready made embellishment!
It doesn't take much effort to separate the ring from the top part. VOILA! Cute metal embellishment. You can use Stazon ink on the metal, stickles, i-rock gems, JUST ABOUT ANYTHING can help bling them up.
PLUS the top part looks AWESOME if you stick it through the cuttlebug with some paper on top. Makes a cute embossed butterfly shape.

The glue gun will keep it stuck to most surfaces.
