Sweets for my sweet! What a Fantabulous Challenge!

Challenge Me Monday #43 over at Fantabulous Cricut is Sweet Shop! Incorporating something sweet into your project. 

I've been thinking about this crazy idea for a while, so I thought I'd see if it would work... it turned out a little bit cute, a little bit sweet and a little bit quirky! 

I used the cute ladybird from Create a Critter... Gave him a huge mouth in Sure Cuts a Lot2 and a sweet tooth! 

What says 'cute' more than Peachy Keen Stamps! Oh so cute!

I hand drew the bunch of flowers and the arm. 

I also had to draw the ladybugs eyes, as I didn't own any Peachy Keens big enough to make it look right.

The rose is made from a flower out of New Arrivals. Tomorrow I'll post up how to make these cute flowers, (click here for tutorial) just in time for Valentines day! I added a sweet chocolate treat to the centre of mine.They look AWESOME in a small bunch of about 8 and for very little cost or time!

2011 Calendar... Finished 7 days in! Plenty of time.

Over the last twenty days I have made three calendars. One for our house, one for my mum's and one for the in-laws!
Thats 36 layouts! Phew.

It was worth it. They look great. Before I sent them, I added photos of the kids for their birthdays and holiday information.

Peachy Keen Heaven!

OOOOOOoooooppppsssss!!!!! I had a girlfriend come from Perth to scrap with me all day Friday and she brought her massive collection of Peachy Keen Stamps.... and SHE FORGOT TO TAKE THEM HOME!!!! YAY!!!!! (They were hidden under my scrapping table jungle of paper!)

I will be seeing her Wednesday so I have this gorgeous set of stamps to try and pump out lots of critters in the next few days before I have to hand them back! I'm on a mission to create!!!!

The page I did last night is awesome! I will share later today once scanned in. But here is one for now!!!  

I used the whale and seahorse from Create a Critter cartridge, gel pen, chalk and ink as per usual (fairly standard with my work) The waves were from Zooballoo and I just used Fit to Page function on the Cricut to help it fit across. Add in some Stickles and it's done!

I am the kind of scrapper who loves making sure the boys will have photos and pages that mean something to them when they are looking through their albums in 20 years time. It will be good for them to see the fun they had together, the imagination they used and be able to play the same kinds of fun games with their own kids.

But also so I can remember the joy they gave me... my brain is so mushy at the moment, I can't remember where I put my keys!!! These kinds of pages will help me retell their story to them.

I am so happy to wake this morning and find some more scrapping fanatics on my blog! (Not just my two friends who have seen all my work!) Welcome!!! Boy I have a treat for you today! Yesterday I had all the local scrapping group at my house for the whole day and we scrapped all day into the wee hours of the night. I just LOVE the layout I did!

I entered a sketch challenge competition on the Peachy Keen Stamps blog as I have recently purchased their awesome products which match all the cute characters you can cut out with the Cricut.

I unfortunately do not have any step-by step photos of how this page came to be, but will explain it all!

This was the sketch challenge.

I love that the Cricut can turn basic bazzills and plain paper into a colourful wild jungle!

I used the animals out of Create a Critter cartridge and the background jungle and tree from Zooballoo.

The font is a welded word from Give a Hoot Cartridge and I cut it into sections, inked it up a little, shadow layered it and then gave it pen accents to liven it up more.

With the faces of the animals, I used Peachy Keen Stamps. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted in the stamps so I used the 'masking' technique to just stamp eyes of one face, nose and mouth off another.

(Masking just means to put a scrap piece of paper in the way to block out some of the stamp you don't want to stamp).  Then white gel pen in the eyes and chalking for the cheeks really brings the faces alive!

So much more character than the plain faces you can cut on the Cricut cartridges.

We had a lot of fun doing this challenge last night!
