Do You Stack Up challenge Pop of Colour

If you are looking for my Whimsical Wednesday DT
for our 'Fun with Humour' challenge, click HERE!

The challenge at Do You Stack Up is 'Black with a pop of colour'. I was glad to see it, because I have been wanting to try this for a while... Yes. Another weird scrap experiment of mine...
The kids were playing in the cubby covered in blankets with their glow sticks... It was one of those 'O-M-G-I-just-need-five-minutes-to-myself-HERE-have-these-and-amuse-yourself-for-at-least-three-minutes' kind of gift to them.

It worked. Ten minutes and dishes done later, I awwwwed and had to take a photo.

So I found some glosticky kind of paper from an ancient DCWV stack.

It's been sitting in my scrap planner for so long with these photos, until I was sitting at my comp and saw this challenge... OOOOOOOOO that could work!

And my scrap supplies quivered in their little organiser containers...

"Who's she gonna pick up? Eeeekkkk!!! Try to hide!"

Poor Stazon. He did not like my request. 'Cover this entire piece of acrylic...'  Reluctantly, he inked over a piece of plastic sheet that I put on top of the glarey DCWV paper and etched out borders and lettering using my very annoyed cricut mini spatula.
By placing the photos underneath and letting the acrylic completely set with the Stazon, you can use Eucalyptus oil to remove the colour on top of the photo and create a window.  Great for boy-grunge looks!
Then I finished my layout. Surprisingly with a limited amount of black ink everywhere. It sure Stazon alright!

Thanks for a great challenge Do You Stack Up.
I loved trying it out. I have effectively offended my cricut for not chirping, my Stazon for over-use and my spatula for misuse. Lucky they don't have lawyers!

Plus, if anyone has ever used Eucalyptus oil, you know that it is the most pungent thing in the WORLD but brilliant for a whole range of things. So I doubt I will getting a cold or flu for 6 months, that acrylic is super-uber clean and there will be no insects in the house for about a week! Phewwwweee!

Cheap Chirpin Tuesday Blog Candy!

Welcome to Week 4 of our Cheap Chirpin Tuesdays for March!

This week I am featuring some cheap embellishment fun!

For only $2 I got this packet of embellishments.

Carlene from Me n' Miss Pink Cricut laughed at me!!!... Sure, plastered all over a layout, they would look a little tacky.

But I saw potential and I bet she is jealous now!  (Especially after I hopefully win the 'add a bow' challenge entry on the  'Do You Stack Up' blog!)
So far in the Cheap Chirpin box is: Chalking palette, Metallic wire, Whimsical paper clips, Pentel outline markers,  this bag of mixed brads, ten sheets of bazzills, and 39 pieces of chipboard lettering.

You will find four March Cheap chirps on my blog and four on Carlene's blog. ONE avid 'commenter' gets the lot!!! You can use the sidebar blinkie to hop between us.
Carlene's blog is HERE!

Have fun!
P.S. Speaking of fun, I'm celebrating 100 followers and a million laughs tomorrow. I'm giving away a Zooballoo cartridge WITH matching Peachy Keen Stamps. So drop by same time tomorrow!

Banners and Bows and Peachy Keen fun!

I know I said I would post my Peachy Keen storage stamps solution today... But I got distracted!

 FORGIVE ME???

Yesterday my friend Carlene and I both drove hours to be together in a hotel with views and scrapbook all day in a town between our locations. While I was finishing my stamp storage cuteness, I saw two challenges to enter and had a great idea for a layout! So I went with it!
Frosted Designs have a banner challenge and Do you Stack Up wants you to add a bow.  I was shopping for Cheap Chirpin Tuesday and I found the cutest bead bows!

I put two banners on my layout, Daisy is what we call each other.

This was cut from Country Life. The font is a cheap stamp set from my pre-cricut days!

This is my favourite banner. The font is Cherry Limeade, which is now my new favourite font!

Such a cute way to use the bows. The paper is from My Little Shoebox and Officeworks right across the road from the hotel, printed me a big 12 x 8 of the views instantly to use on my layout - A mere $2.50 for INSTANT scrapping!

Room service couldn't help hide the horror on her face when she walked in and saw our scrap stuff EVERYWHERE. She must have thought it was a pink takeover! PLUS the weird look she gave the chirping cricut was funny too!

The journalling is little anecdotes that will remind me of the fun, productive day we had! Me n Miss Pink Cricut did so much scrapping. Check out all her cool challenge entries here!

Now I must get busy finishing my Stamp Storage! I'll be back soon with some Peachy Keen cuteness! Check my side bar for a chance to win Peachy Keens for yourself!

Meanwhile we need some Aussie and UK bloggers willing to take on my hot scrap assistant. He is already decided he is wine tasting in California with Popsicle Toes, On a hot date night with barbie dolls at Illinois with Cool Beans and helping Traci at Cricutjunkie in California. He's stopping over with Jennifer at Arizona..(he doesn't need a shirt there!) ...He couldn't turn down Pennsylvania to see Kim. But he wants to show his koala around Australia and the rest of the world too! Click here for the HOT BLOG HOP!

Plus, today one of my layouts is posted on the Peachy Keen website today! What an honour! Thanks Kathy!

Thanks Frosted Designs  and Do you Stack Up.

I always love your challenges! Plus my scrap albums are bulging!
