If you would like to be part of this awesome design team, see Whimsical Designs for details and be one of the first to begin using Stephanie's stamps.
Onto our challenge!
This week our challenge is easy
ANYTHING GOES!
This may look better of you click on it and enlarge it to see detail.
This two page layout is about my special time living in Esperance. It is a beautiful ocean town in Southern Western Australia and during these years I worked so hard. I worked incredibly long hours and built my amazing career from the ground up. I was so grateful that early mornings and every afternoon, I often had eleven miles of beach and coastline all to myself. The peace, the ocean life, the long walks and diving wound me down for those long days and nights.
I used the CENTREPOINT function on the Cricut to cut the photos and their mats into perfect circles. I used Shabby Wrinkled Ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique and I love the way the ocean bundle of colours created this wave.
Nanne is our sponsor for this week's challenge. She is giving away a variety of Webster Pages scrapping supplies.

This will be my last post with Whimsical Wednesday.
I have some huge life changes coming up. I'll be working so hard I'll be wishing I had the Esperance beaches again!
Thank you so much to Stephanie and her fabulous DT!
If any of you are thinking about joining one, this team is great to be part of. Check out the DT call.

Scrap the Boys October Challenge

is to include a handmade boy embellishment.

Here is my seriously over-embellished layout of my
eldest at 2 years old.

I am loving the handmade stuff out there at the moment. My favourite new obsession is the Chip Chop Shop.  She makes the cutest little fimo shapes. I would never have used doilies on my boy pages if it wasn't for her bright bold colours.
Then the Shabby Wrinkled ribbon is from the brilliant recycler at Prairie Bird Boutique. It is so much fun to work with.
I just moved house, and like everyone, have a tonne of extra keys I found and I have no clue what lock they belong to. This is a nice way to keep them safe. Just in case... My copics coloured this one up beautifully.

The Washi Tape is from Sawyers Place. All great patterns and prices and she is even wanting to know what kinds of designs people want... Have an input into your fav tape! Love a business who listen to their buyers.
Then I used Chipped Sapphire distress ink on bubble wrap and gave the layout some extra texture.

Don't you just want to squeeze his cute little cheeks!

As much as I love handmaking things... when there is so many gorgeous artists out there creating wonderfully priced awesomeness... why wouldn't you support them making it!
Take a look at the latest addition to the Chip Chop Shop
Me? Hand make that kind of cuteness? I tried and failed.
I'm glad to keep them all in business.

My gosh, sounding like a sales person, but I'm not.
Just love finding good companies that make
my scrapping easy and fun!

Thanks for a fun challenge Scrap the Boys!

Simply Betty 12 days of Halloween - Guest Design Spot!

YAY!!!!
Today I am Guest Designing for Simply Betty Stamps
They are celebrating the 12 days of Halloween and I am helping conclude the 12 days!

On the twelfth day of Halloween
My true love gave to me
Twelve bats a-flying
Eleven casks a-leaning
Ten ghouls a-groaning
Nine ghosts a-booing
Eight monsters shrieking
Seven pumpkins glowing
Six goblins gobbling
Five scary spooks!
Four skeletons
Three black cats
Two trick or treaters
And an owl in a rotten oak tree

All you have to do for this one is incorporate a bat in your project! Easy.

I had so much fun.
I made a Jellyshot/Lolly holder for Halloween which will sit in a local scrapbooking shop on Monday 31st.
I used the fabulous Simply Betty Stamp called
'Miss Betty Burton'
Coloured her with Copics and added some i-gem bling and Crystalina Kindy Glitz.
I enlarged the bat she is holding in her hand different sizes, doubled them up for wings flapping effect and tied 12 different sized ones from the umbrella.

I made a paper spider out of folding black legs, used a dotty flower wrapped it's petal's around a ball of paper for the spider head and added googly eyes.  I used some Prairie Bird Boutique shabby crinkle ribbon.
 If you like the umbrella,
Here is a template I made:
You have my permission to save this to your computer.
Cut out 8 of these shapes on different patterned paper, fold tabs over and glue together, gently valley folding along centre line to create an umbrella folded look.

Hope you like my jelly holder.
Thanks so much for the Simply Betty Stamps team for inviting me to use some of their awesome stamps.

I'm entering all the other 11 challenges.
You have until 30th Oct to link your entries!
I can't wait to show you my entries.
And if you need some Halloween inspiration - Head on over and see the fabulous DT work!

Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge - Hello Kitty Halloween

I'm sneaking in some cuteness before my Simply Betty Guest Design spot this arvo! Can not wait to show you this one!

Bitten by the Bug 2 is always a fun challenge. This week is using Hello Kitty in a Halloween theme.

Possibly one of the funniest descriptions I have ever seen of me is as follows: 'Chloe is a self absorbed fun box. She charms your entire family at your Nana's 90th BBQ by day and then can make you laugh till you vomit by night.
She makes you feel treasured and loved without even listening to one word you have said. She is such an authentic person who has a wonderland for a brain' - Rita.

Love it.

But that's not Halloween theme you say...
Watch this...
This opens to reveal my Halloween layout.

I thought that concept was so funny.
I'm all gorgeous by day, but at night... ANYTHING goes.
One of the rare photos that captures me in sloppy heaven.
I used Hello Kitty cut from the HK Font cartridge. For the witch version I adapted her wings and added a broom and hat. HK fonts and I used the gypsy to cut the shadow windows so the font could peek through the top page.

The fabulous border and title background is Japanese Washi tape from Sawyers Place called 'Insanity Script'. LOVE it!!
Perfect for my wonderland brain.

 Here's the double layout.
(L.B. Please note: My Minds Eye dotty paper! -
It's not using much but I'm getttinggggg theeerreeeee)

Thanks for a fun challenge Bitten By the Bug 2.
Glad to be back into my layouts again!

I'll see you all back soon for my Simply Betty reveal.
So exciting!

Surreal Challenge and some Whimsical Wednesday fun!

I was blogging about today and was faffing about on Daydream Believer's blog, (You should see her awesome stuff) and saw a surreal art challenge on at The Butterfly Effect

I'm in!
I do 'real' in a surreal way ALL the time. For the last two hours I have been colouring, copicing and having a ball.
Sometimes the best moments you just don't have
photos for...
Because whipping the camera out to capture the moment can be a little creepy and psycho-scrapper.

Examples:
1. When your child gets hurt. You want to capture that black eye.
2. When your child is eating paint. Photo first, worry about lead poisoning later.
3. If you see a wicked car crash of a Lamborghini hitting a clapped out old mini... Irony doesn't come any better.
4. When you think you are a ninja and it's raining REG's.

Soooo, with no photo. Draw it.

This layout captures my 'Men are from Cars, Women are from Cricut' event that you can read if you are twiddling your thumbs: HERE.
It rained rev-head men.
The beige car-aliens blocked my way to my coffeeeeeeee.
I gave REG a few sexy points.
They bowed to their Bugatti king.
I was a ninja!

Begs the question:
Do weird things happen to me, or does my brain make it surreal?
*obvious answer*
There would have been no Cricut, ninja or REG without me there.

BUG, according to Daisy, means Bloody Unexcited Girl. Hahaha. I was nonplussed about the car worship.

Thanks for a fabulous challenge at The Butterfly Effect!
And thanks Gina for always keeping me inspired!

Hope you are joining in Whimsical Wednesday this week!
This week's challenge is
Create a project with an animal cut or digital stamp.
We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Hi All!!!
Here's something I have been promising you!
CUTENESS!

Nawwwwwwwww
I'm entering it into The Paper Variety Recipe Challenge
Here's the recipe:
But don't excited... There is only 2 hours left on the linky...
I used Cindy's cute Pumpkin Digi. Oh so cute!
I used Bella BVD Too Cute to Spook paper and
Wrinkled Ribbon bundle from Prairie Bird Boutique
and the three buttons...
Don't talk to me about the three buttons.
I knew I had em... I searched everything twice.
I have paper up to my eye balls.
They were right in front of me.
Stop talking about the three buttons!

Thanks Paper Variety for a fun recipe challenge!

So, I made a Halloween... (which I don't really celebrate)
CARD (which I never make!).
But that's not the weirdest thing that happened to me today.

Men are from Cars, Women are from Cricut.
(Only read this if you are bored... or need a giggle)

I drove 2 hours for an interview today.
For one hour I was followed by a weird looking car, which other cars swerved for. Eek.
He pulled up right next to me at a pit stop, a place where every man and his truck comes for breakfast.

I smiled, he seemed normal. His car was weird.

But then something odd happened.

Men, from every corner of the servo came walking towards my car.

FOUR thoughts in one millisecond:
1. After all these years, I've still attract 'em like a magnet. Cool.
2. My new perfume must ROCK!
3. Paranoid now, too many halloween projects, maybe THIS is the zombie apocolypse. I'm DOOOMMMEEEDDDD ARRGGHH
4. SNAP OUT OF IT HONEY!!!

When I re-entered the living zone, I saw, they had gathered around weird car... there was a bottom of a Really.Excited.Guy (who I instantly named REG) blocking my driver window.  I thought he was going to let me out of my car, but he was just turning to get his mobile phone out of his pocket to take photos of weird car.

My polite self sat there for a minute, but then my brain said, CHLLLLOOEEEEE.... You NEED COFFFEEEEEEEEE
And in an instant I was furious about a weird car and REG being in my way, I was fully prepared to take him out with the door.

So, I amuse myself. I put on my best deadpan face... Ask REG to politely move out the way and I step SMACK BANG into the centre of the weird car male frenzy...
Enter: the blonde.

Me: *deadpan face, flicks hair* What are we looking at REG?

(As if the car wasn't even there Lol)
REG: *facing me, eyes on car* This is a...

Then to be honest all I heard was Blah blah blah bugatti blah blah 400K blah blah blah... Men are from Cars.

Me: *deadpan* REG, Does it come in pink?

REG: *facing me, eyes on car* Yeah. probably for an extra 40 grand (thousand)

Me: *blink... blink* (two observations here - He answered me that like it was a legit question AND he doesn't notice I am calling him REG)

Me: What can it do apart from go from A to B? Can it make a 12 inch paper lace? Can it cut a koala in a choice of 2 or 7 inches and THEN cut a perfect shadow of 2 mm as well? Not impressing me.

REG: *facing me, eyes on car* hmmm? No, it can't.

Then I realise that all REG heard was Blah blah blah cricut, blah blah blah cut, blah blah blah... Women are from Cricut.

Leave REG to ogle. Now, attention turns to coffee.

Me: OUTTA MY WAY BOYS, I need coffee and I'm a ninja.

ALL men face me with eyes on car. *Awkward* not ONE questioned the fact I am NOT a ninja.

They release me from car frenzy.

Coffee in hand, one sip, brain working, thinking I should be embarrassed for my ninja and deadpan. Weird car owner opens bonnet, which is boot (trunk). Excited Guys ooooooooo and ahhhh over empty space at front.

Me: *leans in a little too close with coffee* THIS would NEVER fit all my scrap stuff, not into it.

All men look at me, eyes on car. Ask another REG to get out of my way so I can leave this scenario.

But the classic moment of the day, was original REG, took his eyes off car long enough to look at me getting in car.

Reg: Hey, it probably would cut a kangaroo though... if it hit it. Not it's shadow though.

I was just out-deadpanned by a deadpanner.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Me: REG, you just made my day and gained some sexy points too. THAT was HILARIOUS!

And that is why I don't need to watch TV.
I have front row seats to my circus.
Men are definitely from cars.
This woman at least, is from Cricut.
