Colour Challenge... and there's a Lemon reasons to look!

Always glad to enter a Whimsical Wednesday. Their challenges are adding a lot of fun, and important stories to my albums. This is Fun with Colour Challenge #11.

I have been wanted to record Mr 3's funny habit for a year now. 

 For a long time when Drew was counting, he'd say... one two three four five six seffffennnn eight nine ten lemonnnnn. lol. It was adorable. So I have been waiting for a yellow challenge. 

Except I knew I had ONE bit of paper which I had been saving for this lemon layout... I turned my scrap area upside down, inside out and back to front... do you think I could find the blasted sheet!!!??? Negative. So tomorrow I'll be dealing with a mountain of paper to re-sort and no doubt I'll find my page of lemons! Gah!

So I stuck with only red, yellow and added the limey green in.  

 

I used Mickey for one, Martha for 2, Elegant Edges and Robotz for 3, Seasonal Martha for 4, Hello Kitty for 5, 6 is Country Life? I think, 7 ??... not very helpful here am I?...

       8 is Birthday Cakes, 

 

9 is a butchered Ornamental Iron number, 10 was sumpin sumpin???  and lemon was Zooballoo. The actual lemon was from SCAL. The leaves were Accent Essentials. (Good ole Accent... it just keeps giving - it really is essential).

My gyspy says, 'PHEW. Too much cartridge hopping'.  

Add some doodling, some Candi and my favourite Elegant Edges squiggle border cut. And I'm done. 

 

I'm glad I scrapbook. The Little Mr has been such a naughty monkey today. I was soooo glad to see him in bed. But seeing his cute photos and some relaxing down time and it all washes away.  

He is so cute in a Lemon million different ways.

Getting Cricky - Thanks for the little things

I love Getting Cricky with K Andrew. Her blog is always a great read. She is a humanitarian with inspiring messages. I am entering in her Simply Sunday Anything Goes Challenge, but instead of taking the easy road and linking up something/anything, I created something specifically for her challenge. 

Getting Cricky has a major theme through all her posts: Gratitude. I love, and live by being thankful too, so I thought I'd post about how my mind works each and every day. (Scary thought!)

 Each and every day, maybe 40 times a day, I consciously think 'Thanks' (THX) for the little things that make me happy.  When I moved out of my home recently, I forgot to take the one little thing that brings me joy, my white mug. 


So I just found one in my new town and I am so happy! It makes me the PERFECT sized coffee. The little mugs in my current home weren't cutting it!

 New i-gems are in the shape of tears/droplets. So I used gel pens to add rain action.

Even though I am surrounded in chaos sometimes, I still have a great life, I am very fortunate. Saying thanks for the small things can help anyone in dark sad place to re-emerge with a brighter outlook. 

I have also started a page on my blog where you can see my Daily THX... another reason to giggle and think about your own THXing. It really does make life more livable sometimes to practice saying THX. Click on the top THX tab to read more. or Click here to have a squizzy.

I LOVED creating the rainbow from bazzills. It was a bit of a challenge, but I worked it out and cut it all by hand drawing and an old tool of mine... scissors.

Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge

I'm entering Peachy Keens sketch challenge #54.

I had to cover a communication book for my son in Kindy so that I can be informed of his day by his Education Assistant. As a result of his vision difficulties and he has a personal Ed Assistant to help him any challenges he may face. We communicate through this little book.

This was the cute sketch I followed: 

Of course, I just had to add a little face, so I made a space man using PK Simple Simon Stamps. 

I used Paper dolls for the space man and suit, the font is from Birthday Cakes, and the paper is Kaisercraft.

One of Dean's school friends went home on Tuesday telling his mum he needs to get his eyes checked, that he needs some special blue glasses and THEN he will need a cool space man book. Lol.  His mum told me this morning when we dropped the kids off at school.  Oh so cute.

Frosted Designs Stitching Challenge.

Over at Frosted Designs they have a Stitching challenge. But before I start- I must warn you, I am tired... I get a bit loopy when I’m tired so who knows where this post will go! But I was so excited about sharing my layout, so I’m here. Committed to posting it.

 What better way to celebrate a good stitch than the day before my caesarean!  Lol.   

 Trust me, 10 lb 5halfoz babies leave a LOT of stitches, but luckily my doctor didn’t use a Sew Easy... he was a master stitcher-up-er-er. Anyway, I’m digressing quite awkwardly here. Ewww...

 We used to joke that baby Drew built an extra room and started making a rocket. He seemed to have twice as much space as other babies.  But then my little boontabubba arrived. 10 pound 5 and a half oz (AND I am not rounding that down for anyone! I carried it, I can claim it. Lol...).  *eeeekkk Digressing!*

So I used the new DCWV Immortal Love pack and one of my favourite tools: Sew Easy.

 It is actually one product that does live up to it’s name. It really is sooooo easy. (*Stop posting Chloe! You are going to ruin it!*)

OOOOOO isn't that a pretty sight.  

Actually I wish caesarean docs did have Sew Easy’s! It would be nice to have a cute daisy shaped scar... * SSSTTOOOPPPPP digressing and GO to BED woman!*

Did you know that looking at awe inspiring layouts can make your eyes blurry? Just kidding. This pic is fuzzy. Don't race off to the Optometrist. *Seriously tired*

The heart and love stitch heads are just gorgeous. I really wanted to add a tiny i-gem to each of the stitch joins but it looked way too much bling, so I stuck to just one in the top of the hearts.  The word 'love' is surprising easy to follow with stitching too.

The very next day, a ten pound, five AND A HALF oz bundle of pure love landed in my arms. He was, and still is, such a gift of love and laughter to our family.

Scrappin Chics Challenge - Sun and Inspiration!

This month at Scrappin Chics Challenge blog, there is a Sun and Inspirational saying challenge.

I INSTANTLY knew what I was going to do when I saw this challenge. 

I was introduced to a world of self mastery at the young age of 24. Even as I turn 36 I am blessed to have learned these skills and have a lifetime ahead to apply them. 

There is a tonne of chaos in my life, like everyone’s, but still I can quite confidently say, I am the happiest person I know.

These two books were a major part of this process and I thought it was worth celebrating them in a layout.

I was recently writing a rambling email to a beloved new blogging friend of mine and I surprised myself at the kind of person I have evolved into in the last ten years.

After ten years of slowly letting the Four Agreements churn my new thoughts into habits, the Fifth Agreement is “The Truth will be” and this is the book that truly set me free. This is where I got the saying for the challenge from. 

The sun is from Gypsy Wanderings. I used my new MARTHA Stewart Seasonal cake art (Daisy! I can hear you laughing from here!) cartridge for the font and Elegant Edges (Who’s laughing now!) was for the flourish and the gorgeous side frame. 

I am proud of myself that I find ways to speak my truth more clearly. I don’t judge others or myself. I never assume anything, I never get caught up or twisted by jealously, envy or gossip. And if I do, I can see clearly why. I take FULL responsibility for me and my actions.

I truly feel like a free, authentic person, who knows me and is proud of me. By constantly using self mastery as a way of improving me, I feel I am doing my very best, to be the best person I can be in this world.

 AND with lack of jealousy, spying, gossiping, envy, and worry in my world, I find so much more time for AMAZING achievements and much more productive beautifully creative scrapping mindset. Win Win!
