Paper Playtime fun... Plus a Blog Hop with a Gypsy up for grabs!

Jumping out my comfort zone, I found this challenge blog on the Daisy Central challenge list. So I thought I'd give it a go for myself. Especially after I formally blog-announced I will hand colour in a digi before the end of the month instead of being a Photoshop cop-out queen.

All my followers know I am not the best at colouring! lol. So at Paper Playtime the Challenge #49 was to use a digital stamp and red, white, blue... I thought I could enter, then hide among the sea of gorgeous entries and give it a try!

Being Australian, the red, white and blue is close to my patriotic heart too.  Lucky for me, my Dad is born on the 4th July, so I thought I'd make this cute joking card for him from my boys.
The glossy and Glitz and stickles made the 61 look like some kind of sweet sugary candy. The element frame and blob are from Bugaboo collection from Kelly-Jo scraps.

The digital Stamp is BoysRUs in the PuddleJumper set from LORi Designs. I used watercolour pencils and a blending pen. It's as good as this digi-newbie is going to get!

Ok. I admit it. I photoshopped the insert pic. What can I say, I just LOVE using photoshop. BUT I can finally see for myself how much awesomer, (is that even a word?) gooder, betterer, fabulouser, fantastic-er - WHATEVERer
the hand colouring looks.

I agree with whoever is not liking my photoshop easy-road. Hand colouring looks a lot more cuter.

Topic change: Love that star emboss folder.

Thanks for a great challenge Paper Playtime. I really did feel like I was playing with paper for the first time again. It was great to have a little moment of learning something new.

  8. Okay you rock! I love this special card for your Dad. Love the outside and then how you put together the inside! LOVE it. Now onto your coloring..flipping great job! Awesome. Nice job with the shading, and your tones are perfect. Can I tell you that coloring images is my favorite thing to do. I find it so relaxing and it is the ONE thing that when I do it I don't think of anything else. I get so into it. Thank you so much for being such an awesome DT, in helping get the word out about WW.

Love it Chloe, as usual. Hanging out for Saturday am! Good luck with it all too, bet you're excited xx
